Roster privacy & storage
Here is how the lineup tool handles the roster and game information you enter.
Using the free tool in your browser
Lineup generation runs in your browser. Your guest roster, latest plan, edits, and print format are saved in local storage in that browser. They are not added to the team database just because you generate, print, or download a lineup. Anyone using that browser profile may be able to open the saved draft.
Clearing site data removes this local copy. Export a JSON backup first if you want to keep it. A downloaded CSV, JSON backup, or printed sheet contains the names you entered, so choose where you save or share it. First names or initials are enough to make a lineup.
Saving a team with an account
When you choose Save my team and complete account setup, Sandlotball sends the roster and lineup to the team database. Teams created from the lineup tool and their roster members start private. Coaching notebooks, including ratings, rotations, and recorded playing-time history, are restricted to the team owner’s account.
Publishing a team listing is a separate choice. Check the team and roster visibility settings before publishing. Generating or printing a plan does not record a played game; only games you explicitly record contribute to season history.
Using an assistant, API, or MCP tool
A connected assistant sends the roster and game settings to Sandlotball’s public lineup endpoint. The endpoint computes and returns the plan without saving a team or roster in the application database. These generation routes do not log request bodies in application code, and their responses are marked private and not cached.
The assistant service may keep its own conversation or tool records according to its settings. Send only the player names and game settings needed for the lineup. An account, player email addresses, birth dates, and contact details are not required for generation.
Services that run the site
Vercel hosts the website and public generation endpoints. Supabase provides account sign-in and team data storage. These services process technical request and account information to operate the site. This page describes the lineup and roster flows; the visibility you choose for a team listing also applies to what other visitors can see.
