Bring your team over from GameChanger or TeamSnap

Move your roster and upcoming events into Sandlotball, then help players and families join.

TeamSnap: upload its roster CSV and schedule text export directly.

GameChanger: transfer names and events using the paste tools or schedule template. Sandlotball does not currently have a direct GameChanger importer.

Before you start

  • Use Sandlotball in a web browser for these file imports. A computer makes exporting and reviewing files easier.
  • Sign in, open Team, and create or select the destination team. The team owner imports the roster; the owner or a member with schedule management access can import events.
  • Keep the original exports as backups. These imports add records; they do not keep the two apps in sync. Import each batch once to avoid duplicates.
  • Use a device set to the time zone of the schedule you are entering. Dates and times are interpreted in that device's local time zone.

Passwords, chats, photos, videos, payments, statistics, and previous RSVP responses are not transferred. Staff labels in a roster do not automatically grant coaching or schedule management permissions.

From TeamSnap

1. Export and import your roster

  1. In TeamSnap on the web, open your team's Roster tab. Choose Export → Export CSV File and save the download. TeamSnap's roster export instructions.
  2. In your Sandlotball team, open Roster → Add players → TeamSnap.
  3. Select Choose TeamSnap roster export and upload the original CSV. No column conversion is needed for a recognized team export.
  4. Review the names, positions, jersey numbers, and invitation counts. Email contact columns can include parents as well as players; review the source file for everyone you intend to invite.
  5. Fix any reported row errors, then select Import … members. Check both the member count and any email delivery warnings afterward.

Import up to 100 roster members per batch. Sandlotball reads names, email contacts, positions or role labels, and jersey numbers. TeamSnap's team roster export does not include profile photos or custom fields; other contact details such as phone numbers are not imported into Sandlotball.

2. Export and import your schedule

  1. In TeamSnap on the web, open Schedule → Settings → Sync Calendar/Export. Select Export Text File at the bottom. TeamSnap's schedule export instructions.
  2. In your Sandlotball team's Schedule, select Import schedule (or Paste schedule on an empty schedule), then the TeamSnap tab.
  3. Select Choose TeamSnap schedule export and upload the downloaded text file. This tab accepts recognized TeamSnap text or CSV exports; use the text export rather than a printed PDF or calendar subscription link.
  4. Check event counts, dates, times, locations, and any skipped-row warnings. Fix errors before selecting Import … events.
  5. Open the imported events to check opponents, arrival times, end times, addresses, and notes. Set your Sandlotball RSVP deadlines and attendance targets as needed.

Import up to 250 source rows per batch. Rows marked cancelled are skipped with a warning. Details can only transfer when they are present in a recognized column in the export.

From GameChanger

Use the roster and schedule you can access in GameChanger to prepare the examples below. This is a manual transfer: a GameChanger stats CSV, calendar link, or ICS file cannot be uploaded into Sandlotball's TeamSnap importer.

1. Bring over your players and family contacts

  1. In your Sandlotball team, open Roster → Add players → Paste roster.
  2. Enter one player per line: name first, then the player's and/or parent's email addresses, separated by commas. Replace these sample names and emails with your own. Do not include a header row.
Sam Taylor, sam@example.com, parent@example.com
Alex Morgan, alex-parent@example.com
Jamie Rivera

Review the player and invitation counts, fix errors, then select Add … players. Paste up to 30 players at a time. A name without an email creates a roster entry without an account invitation. Use Add one when you want to enter a position or jersey number too.

2. Bring over upcoming games and practices

Open your team's Schedule → Import schedule (or Paste schedule), then choose Quick paste. Enter one event per line in this order: date, time, event, location.

2026-10-06, 6:00 PM, Practice, Riverside Field
2026-10-10, 7:00 PM, Game vs Northside Nine, Field 4

Replace the sample events, include the year, and review the preview before selecting Import … events. Quick paste supports up to 104 events at a time.

Quick paste starts with a two-hour duration, arrival 30 minutes early for games and tournaments or 15 minutes early for practices, and an RSVP deadline one day before the event. Check and edit these details after importing.

Need addresses, notes, or repeating practices?

  1. Download the Sandlotball schedule CSV template and open it in a spreadsheet.
  2. Keep its header row and replace the example rows. Use YYYY-MM-DD dates and 24-hour HH:MM times. Set repeat to none for individual events; the sample practice repeats weekly, so change those settings if you only want one practice.
  3. Save as CSV, open Advanced CSV → Choose completed CSV, and upload it. Review the preview and import. A batch can create up to 250 events, including repeated occurrences.

Keep your GameChanger calendar or stats separately

To view GameChanger events in your personal calendar, open the team in GameChanger, tap the gear, then Schedule Sync → Sync Schedule to Your Calendar and follow the Apple or Google Calendar option. This subscribes your personal calendar; it does not import or update Sandlotball. Followers see games only, while staff, players, and parents/guardians can sync all team events. GameChanger's calendar instructions.

For a separate statistics backup, eligible team staff can follow GameChanger's season stats export instructions. That export is for your records; Sandlotball does not import season statistics.

For players and families

You do not need to export or re-import the team. Ask the team owner to invite the email address you use for Sandlotball. Open your invitation link or the Join your team page below, sign in with that same address, and select Accept for your player on the matching invitation.

Each family member should use their own account. Being listed in the old app does not automatically sign you into Sandlotball or give you management access. Once connected, check the next event and send a new RSVP here.

If something looks wrong

The import button is disabled or the file is not recognized.
Choose the matching tab: TeamSnap for its original exports, Advanced CSV for the Sandlotball template, or Quick paste for typed events. Fix every reported row error. Spreadsheet workbooks, screenshots, PDFs, stats files, and calendar URLs are not supported import files.
Times or years look wrong.
Check the device time zone and use explicit years. A quick-paste date without a year is interpreted as its next occurrence, which may be next year. Correct the input before importing; if already saved, edit the existing events.
Some players were added, but invitations failed.
Roster creation and email delivery are separate. Read the result before trying again and check the existing roster. Do not re-import successful rows just to resend email. Recipients can open Join your team and sign in with the invited email to find pending invitations. If none appear, confirm the address and ask the owner to use the existing player's account invitation controls.
The same players or events appear twice.
Imports add new records and do not merge by name or date. Check for an earlier successful batch before uploading again. Correct existing records instead of re-importing the whole file.
An import option is missing.
Use the web app, confirm the selected team, and ask its owner to handle the roster or grant schedule management access. If an export option is missing in the source app, ask that team's administrator for the original export.
